Supported Living Services

TrustStead Supported Living provides small, well-managed homes for people who are able to live semi-independently, but who benefit from structure, clear expectations and housing-related support. Our focus is on stability, safety and progression towards greater independence.

We work with local authorities, probation services, charities and other partners to deliver placements that are realistic, sustainable and outcome-focused. Our homes are designed to feel like real homes – calm, respectful environments with clear boundaries and practical support.

Semi-Independent Supported Living

Our core offer is small, semi-independent homes for adults who can live with a reasonable degree of independence, but who benefit from structure, clear house rules and regular contact with workers.

Properties are typically shared by a small number of residents, each with their own bedroom and access to shared facilities. The environment is designed to be calm, respectful and predictable, with expectations made clear from the outset.

  • Small, well-managed shared homes in residential areas
  • Clear agreements, boundaries and house rules
  • Regular check-ins and housing-related support
  • Focus on routines, stability and safety

This service suits individuals who do not need full-time care, but who are not yet ready for fully independent accommodation without structured support.

Step-Down & Transition Housing

For people moving on from higher levels of support, temporary accommodation or institutional settings, a step-down period can be crucial. Our homes provide a safe and structured base from which residents can adjust, stabilise and gradually take on more responsibility.

  • Calm, stable accommodation for people in transition
  • Support to establish routines around sleep, food and self-care
  • Help to reconnect with local services, training or employment
  • Close liaison with referring agencies and professionals

We work closely with commissioners and partner agencies to plan move-on from the outset, aiming to avoid repeat cycles of crisis or unsuitable accommodation.

Housing-Related Support

We provide structured, practical support that helps residents understand and meet their responsibilities as tenants or licensees. Support is tailored, but remains focused on real-life skills and maintaining a safe environment.

  • Induction to the property, house rules and local area
  • Support with appointments, benefits, basic budgeting and letters
  • Encouraging positive routines, self-care and engagement
  • Monitoring property standards and addressing issues early

Our approach is strengths-based and boundaried: we support, encourage and challenge residents to take ownership of their progress.

Partnership & Commissioned Services

TrustStead is built on a partnership mindset. We work with local authorities, probation services, voluntary organisations and other stakeholders to design offers that are realistic, safe and sustainable.

  • Spot purchases and individual placements
  • Block bookings and small block contracts
  • Joint working with voluntary and community sector partners
  • Clear reporting, communication and escalation pathways

We are always open to exploring how our properties and support model can complement existing local provision and help relieve pressure on temporary or high-cost placements.
